Target Student Group 
8 – 26 years old foreign students studying at primary, secondary, high school , or university level.
Objectives:

For students to immerse in a suitable environment, in order to improve their English proficiency in the shortest time possible

To allow the students to experience a different culture and develop a better understanding of Singapore

To allow the students to get to know other students from various countries, interact and learn from one another

Ultimately, it is to enable students to be able to learn while in a relaxed and enjoyable manner
Why Singapore?

Singapore is a country where east meets west. The mixture of these two cultures will allow students from all parts of the world to feel at home in the environment

Being a multi-racial society, Singapore will definitely allow students to have an extraordinary cultural experience and enable them to develop a deeper understanding of the different races and cultures

Singapore is no doubt, considered to be one of the safest countries with high security and political stability

The public transport system is very well established, making it convenient for students to travel around if they would like to do so

There are many expatriates and foreign students residing in Singapore and thus, students will not feel out of place in a new environment.
Duration of Trip 
Possible durations of the trip are from 2 weeks to 8 weeks
Months in which trip is conducted – January, March, July, August, November, December
Itinerary:

Mondays to Fridays, 5 times, 30 hours of lessons a week
-
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: English Language Graded Certification Class (includes: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)

12.p.m. to 1 p.m.: Lunch

1 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Interactive English Session for Real-life Application

Weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), 12 hours of touring a week

SCI Teachers will bring the students out to various tourist attractions and significant places in Singapore for the students to tour and learn along the way.

Places of Interest includes some of the following: Universal Studio, Sentosa, Singapore Zoo, Botanic Garden, Jurong Bird Park, Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore Philatelic Museum, Singapore River, Merlion Park, The Esplanade, Parliament House, Supreme Court, City Hall, St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Statue of Stamford Raffles, Raffles’ Landing Site, Chinatown, Orchard Road, Little India’s Hindu Temple, Sultan Mosque, Tian Hou Temple and etc.

Public Holidays (If any)

There will be no lessons on public holidays. Students are to make their own arrangements, for example do self-study at home, or take the day to rest.

Accommodation: Home-stay (In vicinity of the Spring College International)

First-Come-First-Serve Basis: With early registration, the host-homes would be nearer to SCI.

For students below 12 years of age, the home-stay guardians will fetch them to and from SCI. For students above 12 years of age, the home-stay guardians will bring them to SCI for the first time, to familiarize them with the route.

3 meals – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be provided: *however, as lunch time is only for 1 hour, most students prefer to have lunch in eateries near SCI. In that case, please prepare some money for allowance.

Laundry Services – Washing and Ironing of clothing will be provided as well

Airport Pick-up/ Drop-off Service: After the students have registered and made payment, they are to inform SCI of their flight numbers. SCI will then make arrangements for people to pick the students up when they arrive
Visa Matters: For students from visa-required countries

Students must make the arrangements and obtain a social visit pass on their own in their countries
-
If the student would like SCI to help apply for a social visit pass, there will be a fee
-
Documents required: Photocopy of applicant’s passport and 2 recent passport-sized photographs of the applicant

It will take about 7 days for the social visit pass application
Parent Accompaniment 
For parents, this would be a good chance to improve parent-child relationship. Parents could attend this trip together with their child, learning and touring together.
*There will be a discount off the parent’s fee
Preparation Matters 
Before setting off, students should make arrangements for travel insurance in their own countries, or prepare a sum of money to be used in emergency cases. In the case of an emergency (e.g. injury/ accident), SCI will not be liable to pay the costs incurred.
