Mandarin Course(Business)

 

Objectives

This programme is another promise and commitment by SCI to provide high quality and customized training to create long-term value for our students.

Facing with market challenges and the need to unlock the doors to China for further business opportunities, this course can cater to the needs of a diverse group with various interests.

It will not only equip businessmen, managers and executives with proficiency in writing effective correspondences, but also elevate their work efficiency in building strong bridges with organizations operating in China. The course focuses on improving the participants’ etiquette and conduct, thus strengthening their communication and people skills. Employees will be equipped with broad-base knowledge and understanding of the China market in various aspects, including economy, culture, politics, business practices and education. Thus this course is suitable for CEOs, Professionals, Business Owners, school students and keen learners of Mandarin.

Other than helping a great deal in the China market, this course not only improves the Mandarin language skills for use in the business world, but also perfects the student’s competence in Mandarin.

Ultimately, this course will introduce the Chinese characters to allow students to listen, speak, read and write Mandarin in the correct grammatical rules and proper sentence structures. Students are able to proceed from level 1 up to level 6 to improve their reading and writing ability. At the end of the 6 levels of course, students will be expected to be able to listen and communicate fluently in Mandarin, read and write around 3000 Chinese characters and Chinese texts of relatively long length.


Course Outline

To develop an awareness of language and tone in business correspondence

1) Improves your general Mandarin skills

  • An introduction to basic Hanyu Pinyin, speech, summary skills, basic report and letter writing, business correspondence and resume

2) Enhances Mandarin language skills through a study of the basic principles behind good customer relationships (communication and listening)

  • Rapport building, modalities & establishing the flow
  • Sales techniques
  • Corporate entertaining & cultural nuances

3) Discover the verbal and non-verbal skills that result in powerful and effective presentations, as well as the key negotiation skills

  • Verbal & non-verbal language
  • Ingredients of effective sales presentations
  • Powerful oral presentations through planning, preparation & execution
  • Effective & efficient meetings


Lesson Time 

Each level consists of 16 lessons of 1.5 hours each or 8 lessons of 3 hours each
- Each level will take 2 months to complete
- Preferred schedule can be discussed further


Course Certification 

Students can receive a certificate by SCI upon completion of the course. Whether or not to take an examination at the end of the course is optional.

 


Requirements 

Level 1 (Elementary) Business Mandarin – No requirement
Level 2 or above - sit for a placement test/interview to assess your mandarin proficiency.



Course Materials 

Course Materials and Textbooks are compulsory and at a minimal fee. Material fees are subjected to change depending on the level.


Teachers 

We have highly qualified teachers who are dedicated and responsible. Our teachers who are experienced in their teaching subject are also very amicable and caring. The teachers are able to converse in both English/Mandarin as well to facilitate explanation.
