Superior Camp Groups:

This programme is specially designed for foreign students who would like to improve their English or Mandarin in the shortest time possible, while taking the time to learn more about Singapore’s culture and tour Singapore. Holiday English Course

Objectives 

This course aims to improve foreign students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English within the shortest time, with the help of our dedicated teachers who are very experienced in teaching English language.

Lesson Time 

A: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
B: Monday to Friday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
C: Monday to Friday, 9 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Course Certification 

Certificate will be awarded upon passing the examination.

We have highly qualified teachers who are dedicated and responsible. Our teachers who are experienced in their teaching subject are also very amicable and caring.

SCI offers quick guidance and efficient learning during the holiday to brush up the students' language skills in areas such as:

Mandarin Course(Reading & Writing)

 

Objectives  

This course aims to introduce the Chinese characters to allow students to read and write Mandarin in the correct grammatical rules and proper sentence structures. Students are able to proceed from level 1 up to level 6 to improve their reading and writing ability.

In review of the characteristics of language learning of the students, we use not only easy-to-understand language, but also simple and concise grammar, which enable the students to use the grammatical rules to guide their own language practice and make the study relaxing and practical. At the end of the 6 levels of course, students will be expected to be able read and write around 3000 Chinese characters and Chinese texts of relatively long length.


Course Outline  

  • Teach Chinese characters
  • Differentiate similar words and words with many meanings
  • Increase vocabulary
  • Correct pause in sentence
  • Fluent reading
  • Grammatical rules
  • Sentence structure
  • Fluent expression
  • Write short paragraphs and essays


Lesson Time  

Each level consists of 16 lessons of 1.5 hours or
8 lessons of 3 hours
- Each level will take 2 months to complete
- Preferred schedule can be discussed further


Course Certification  

Students can receive a certificate by SCI upon completion of the course. Whether or not to take an examination at the end of the course is optional.

  


Requirements  

Level 1 reading and writing Mandarin course – No requirement
Level 2 or above - sit for a placement test/interview to assess your mandarin proficiency.

Teachers  

We have highly qualified teachers who are dedicated and responsible. Our teachers who are experienced in their teaching subject are also very amicable and caring. The teachers are able to converse in both English/Mandarin as well to facilitate explanation.
