Diploma/ Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Operations Management

Objectives

This course aims to equip students with the skills to apply scientifically-based techniques to work-related problems, business forecasting, quantitative and heuristic problem-solving, logistics, quality management, and to develop decision support, scheduling and control systems. This course is ideal for students who wish to learn more about logistic and operation management.

Course outline

There are 9 modules. The modules are:

  1. Business Statistics
  2. International Economics
  3. Organizational Behaviour & Culture
  4. Principles of Accounting
  5. Principles of Information Systems
  6. Principles of Management
  7. Legal Issues in Transportation and Logistics
  8. Purchasing and Procurement Management
  9. Warehouse and Inventory Management

Optional

  1. Business Law & Ethics
  2. Principal of Marketing

Pre-requisites

Applicants must be at least 16 years or above AND fulfil the following requirements

  • Academic Level: At least 10 years of formal education or equivalent or pass the placement test of SCI or One year and above relevant working experience
  • Language Proficiency: English Language with IELTS 5.5 & above or GCE ‘O’ level grade C6 and above or pass SCI language proficiency test or equivalent

Course Duration

Course will be completed in 9 months. There will be 15 hours of lesson time each week.

Course Certification

Upon completion of the 9 modules, those who fulfill the required attendance and pass all the assessments will be awarded a Diploma in Logistics and Operation Management by SCI.

  • Diploma from SCI or other recognized local/overseas Institutions (Students who have prior studies from other institutions are required to provide original certificates of completion. The Academic Board may grant students exemptions from some modules.)
